As one of the all-rounder healing herbs, Calendula has been long known for it's anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-septic, anti-inflammitory, anti-oxidant and anaethesitising properties. It is great for pain relief, reducing swelling  and clean healing.  A great one for the medicine cabinet. 
 
Traditionally used to soothe & heal wounds, inflammation, minor infection, nappy rash, hydrate & nourish dry, itchy or irritated skin, bruised or sore muscles, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, scalds, exzema, dermatitis, some acne, psorisis, insect bites & stings, cuts, cold sores and reduce scarring by increasing blood flow to the injury and encouraging growth of healthy new tissue. 
 
It has also been known to improve the quality and appearance of the skin by way of tone, suppleness and with it's moisurising effects. It is considered protective of the skin's collagen and elastin supply which can nourish and plump the skin's surface.  This also puts it in the running to slow down the development of wrinkles! 
 
Some even consider Calendula to have SPF properties. 
 
Safe to use both internally & externally. Unless an allergy is present to ragweed, daisies, marigold, or plants in the Asteraceae/Compositae family.
 
Can be used in the preparation of balms, creams and blended with other oils.
