It is considered highly effective in balancing emotional issues that relate to creativity and/or anger outburts.  
Not reccommended for those who already deal with mental or emotional depression.  Note, some depressive tendencies can be supressed anger and if using this herb brings on an unusual depressive state, it could be indicative of a need to delve a bit deeper. 
 
Calendula not only works on calming the nervous system but is a powerful energy for warmth and comfort in darkness. It can enhance clarity, creativity and healing communication to and from the heart. It helps us understand each other better.  It's powerful anti-inflammatory effects work on the mental and emotional bodies just as well as they do on the physical body.
 
Lavender invites in nature spirits, healing and protection. Balances and regulates emotional instability and mood swings. Alleviates shock and trauma, imbues a feeling of calm that allows them to let go of compulsions, irritations and anger, dispel anxiety, calm the mind, ease the transition into sleep and encourages a restful night.
 
Rosemary for it's stress and anxiety releiving properties. Just smelling this herb can directly lower the cortisol levels! Improves circulation and thus has a positive effect on memory too. 
 
Once settled into bed, pillow can be placed in any of the following positions:
beside the head
over the eyes
on forehead
on upper chest
over their stomach
just hold under nose, breathe deeply for a while.
 
Can be safely left by the head whilst sleeping.
